The Dubai Divots were first formed in 2010 by James Evans, Scott Sigsworth , Paul Miles, Richard Holmes....

It is not often a Golf Society is such an instant success, but the Dubai Divots broke the mould when we were first established in 2010. Originally we raised considerable sums for charities, but with the changing of the laws governing charity in Dubai we regrettably decided to no longer raise funds... However, that may change in the future.

The very essence of the society is to ensure we have fun and a great game of golf.. enjoying each others company, and letting the fun spill into the evening and sometimes.. beyond !

We are an expat society, mostly from the UK and a sprinkling from Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Korea, Europe....

We welcome both male and female members. Having a diverse membership is seen as an asset and broadens minds and experiences.

CAPTAIN Aaron Birch

As an experienced professional with over 17 years in the construction industry.

Aaron is a dedicated manager and strives to get the best out of himself and his team. "We only succeed when we work as a team."

He has lived and worked in the UAE since 2007 an experienced manager and has a great drive ethic.

Talking of Drives... yup as a very low single handicapper, he is perhaps our best player.. unless of course he gets frustrated and throws his toys out of the pram... !!!

BE WARNED. Aaron is also in charge of your HANDICAP .. so he expects a generous contribution at the 19th post games..

Co-Chairman. Andrew J Bannister

Andrew has been a member of the Divots since it started in 2010.. As a 'senior' member, he takes on this new role. As a former captain and general bandit, Andrew helps out when the captain and vice captain are otherwise engaged..

Andrew is a semi-retired architect but has recently taken on the role as Head of MENASA ( Mid East, North Africa, South Asia ) for Modulex and Merit both being PLC's and offering the worlds most advanced modular construction factory built solutions. phew... ..

Andrew also travels internationally giving presentations to governments on how modular "2" will help them to achieve their housing targets.. social housing is the target.. needing 35m homes "annually"

Co-Chairman. Scott Sigsworth

Scott is an experienced Engineering Consultant who started his career as a Building Services Engineer and over the last 25 years has led the Design and Supervision of some significant Buildings projects. Scott has lived and worked in the UAE since 2007 and currently holds the position of 'Technical Director - Strategic Growth' where he works with WSP's Business leaders to build and strengthen new and existing client relationships through exceptional client engagement.

Scott is one of the Founding Fathers of the Divots and is currently based in Hong Kong.. but keeps a keen eye on the Dubai Divots and is involved from afar...

Legacy Chairman. James Evans.

When you ask James how he got this role, he will say that he never accepted it.. but as the societies first Captain and a true inspiration within the Divots, we will not let him retire, ever... He can complain as much as he wants to, it will come to no avail.

James works in Dubai in the construction industry and has recently taken several leaps up the ladder in senior roles in Dubai.

The Divots without James would not be the same... not saying why though !
